Fleet Manager: Frank Zauner
General Services Corp. is a managing agent for 4600
apartments in the metro Richmond area. As Regional Property Manager, Frank Zauner oversees
130 personnel, including the fleet drivers. General Services has been a fleet customer
since February 1990 and purchases about 5000 gallons of fuel per month. The fleet includes
maintenance, investigations, grounds maintenance, and staff personnel. He shares his
comments about fleet management below:
"Proactive fleet maintenance is a must. We have
the drivers check the fluids daily. We developed a checklist for tires, lights, belts,
hoses, etc. We try to instill a philosophy for the driver to treat the vehicles as if he
owns it. What would he be doing if it were his vehicle? That kind of approach.
We like Crown for several reasons. Crown has always
been price competitive. You have a quality gasoline, and your responsive to our needs. We
love the monthly Vehicle Analysis Report. It's easy to read, tracks well, helps us watch
the vehicles for preventive maintenance. We have to have quality vendors, and Crown is a
quality vendor. Best of all, we find people with a smile at Crown."

I want to personally write this letter to thank you
and Crown Petroleum. Your program has proven to be a very valuable tool in helping me
oversee my fleet of vehicles. Previously I was using [another] card but you came in and
showed me that Crown has the coverage in this area to handle all of my fueling needs. This
in itself has proven to be a great savings on fuel costs since Crown is so competitive
price-wise while still maintaining a quality product. The other reason I am happy with
Crown is the number of stations that have the "electronic point of sale" which
has virtually eliminated all the manual transactions that I was getting with the
[previous] card. Again, I want to thank you for making my job easier and saving my company
a substantial amount of money.
